Looking Into Glass

A journal of questions, thoughts, ideas, and even a few answers that have shaped my journey so far. I seem to keep coming back to the same 2 questions: Who is God? Who am I?

I am a very blessed man. I am a very grateful man.
I have lots of reasons to write those two statements. However one reason is because of a great day I had this week. I celebrated 25 years of marriage to my wonderful wife, Kim on June 9. Yes sir, 25 years of marriage to the same woman.
I am a very blessed man. I am a very grateful man.
For over two decades God has poured the heart and character of Jesus into my life through her. I trust that she can say the same about me. We’ve walked through some enormous difficulties and God has used those times to grow us up. And to make us more like His Son.
I am a very blessed man. I am a very grateful man.
I am thankful that God brought us together when He did and that He has kept us together throughout these many years. When two flawed individuals share 25 years in marriage, it is reason to celebrate God’s abundant grace.
I am a very blessed man. I am a very grateful man.
And yet I know that I can’t just sit back now & just “coast” for the rest of our married life. I know of people getting divorced even after 30 years of marriage. Honestly I can’t think of living without Kim, but I also do not want to take our marriage for granted. We still have a lot of hard work ahead of us and staying married is no easy chore for anyone. It is a day-by-day process of listening, laughing and loving. Some days are more fun than others. But at the end of my days, one thing I will know – I have been loved. What more precious gift is given?
I am a very blessed man. I am a very grateful man.
